Ever Fallen
Exhibition (installations, paintings)
June 27th, 2019. From 6 to 10:30 PM
Artists: Maurizio Bongiovanni, Andreas Mallouris
Ever Fallen is the first exhibition at Metodo Milano, a space that evokes thoughts, feelings and modes of exploration.
A tunnel is a directional space, a space of transition, a space that draws you in and spits you out, a space of emotions and perception. Two ends, two endings, two artists.
Questions are being posed by both artists, questions about the body, often the male body, about sexuality, about desire and obsessions, obsessions in thoughts and in materials. Questions that don’t need answers, questions that take place in a void, in an in-between space. Questions without response deliver availabilities of confrontation. Mallouris’ concerns are beautifully made evident in material, colour, sound and emotive dependencies. They live in symbiosis of queer space and become persistently adaptive yet stay simultaneously autarkic. By consolidating and dissolving normative dualities, Bongiovanni shows us seeds of narratives that expand in readings for a world of new configurations of the contemporary. Extremities are becoming independent and invasive, yet show a strange and casual familiarity as they reconfigure sexual space and emotions in time.
The tunnel cannot not be, without it.
ABOUT
Metodo Milano is an Unconventional Visual Art Space open to sharing and experimenting in contemporary artist practices. Its name is inspired by construction techniques for urban galleries. The space, a real tunnel that connects two streets is located inside a garage. Artists from national and International territory are invited to create works born in close contact with a space with a strong character. The idea stems from a need of the artist Maurizio Bongiovanni to create a meeting point in the city of Milan. The space is happy to evaluate artistic projects and collaboration.
